Embracing the Day

Today is a snow day! An unexpected one for me as I awoke to my 12 year old announcing he thinks he read the school closure on the TV screen because our local newsroom was in "storm watch" mode. I conformed his excitement and proceeded to analyze just how I would spend my day.

When I am granted a few extra hours of time I often think about how much I can accomplish. I often plan to complete a wide variety of chores or projects that have been left undone.

Today I have decide to embrace the snow day. I hope to maybe work on a puzzle we have been doing as a family, play a game, read a book, maybe scrapbook or maybe even enjoy some video games with my kids. After all, why do I have to spend every minute cramming in things that likely will go unnoticed or appreciated? I want to embrace the day and create a memory. That's what I intend to do today! Today is a perfect day to take photo's and scrapbook "A Sherriff Snow Day - 2007". What kind of lasting impression do I intend to leave? One of fun and relaxation - let's see if I can force myself out of old patterns and make it happen!
